In May 2020, it was announced that the two large companies E Ink Holdings (E Ink) and Innolux (a subsidiary of Foxconn) had started cooperation in the ACeP area (Advanced Color ePaper) for E Ink Gallery™ panels. E Ink is the leading innovator of E Ink technology, while Innolux is one of the largest manufacturers of TFT-LCD panels.
28" ACeP display
Oriented on the IoT and Smart City applications the first joint developed 28” ACeP display has extremely low power consumption, is thin, lightweight and without front- or backlight. With an aspect ratio 32:9 this panel is a so-called bar type display which is, because of its special form factor, predestined for integration in in-vehicle advertisement and retail signage, as well as passenger information systems in public transportation. Since long time ago the e-paper technologies are on running to replace traditional paper poster.
An interface of the panel is mini-LVDS. Its features are high bandwidths with reduced noise levels, low power consumption and good EMC behavior. To drive the display a TCON-board with IC T1000 is developed by E Ink. The driving board will be offered together with the panel.
