BJD presents FAKRA connectors for the automotive industry

We are pleased to introduce the FAKRA connectors (short for “Fachkreis Automobil”) from BJD – an essential component for the modern automotive industry. Developed in compliance with DIN 72594-1 and USCAR-18 standards, these connectors have been especially designed for use in vehicles and standardized by German car manufacturers.
 

FAKRA connectors: key components for versatile automotive applications

As coaxial connectors, FAKRA connectors are predestined for a wide range of automotive applications, including

  • Antenna signals (FM/DAB, TV)
  • High-frequency applications such as keyless go systems
  • Mobile radio technologies (GSM, HF-Bluetooth)

  • Parking heaters
  • GPS navigation and telematics solutions

An outstanding feature of FAKRA connectors is their mechanical coding and color coding. This ensures that misalignments are reliably avoided. They also enable multiple combinations, which increases flexibility in vehicle design. Typical color codes are:

  • Gray: Radio remote control, central locking
  • Purple: GPS antenna
  • Beige: Parking heater
  • Curry: Radio, video input
  • Aquamarine: Zero coding (multipurpose)

Performance under extreme conditions

FAKRA connectors from BJD are designed for use in demanding conditions. They can withstand wide temperature ranges from -40°C to +105°C and are resistant to shocks and vibrations – ideal for the challenges of the automotive sector. Thanks to their suitability for the reflow soldering process, fast and reliable processing is ensured.
